We are now seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Assistant Headteacher to join our leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future of our school.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early years teacher with QTS who is passionate about high-quality early education and keen to make a whole-school impact. The role combines teaching responsibilities with a significant strategic leadership remit, particularly in curriculum planning and implementation across the school.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Has proven ability to inspire, support, and challenge practitioners.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to continuous school improvement.
  • Brings creativity, resilience, and a child-centred approach to all aspects of their work.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Work as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, supporting the Headteacher in all aspects of school leadership.
  • Lead on curriculum development, ensuring a cohesive, inspiring, and consistent approach across all age groups.
  • Support staff in planning, assessment, and high-quality pedagogical practice.
  • Contribute to school self-evaluation, improvement planning, and quality assurance.
  • Model outstanding practice and provide coaching or mentoring as required.

Teaching & Learning

  • Teach a class as part of the weekly timetable and maintain high expectations for all learners.
  • Create a stimulating environment that supports children’s development across all areas of the EYFS.
  • Ensure teaching is inclusive, responsive, and underpinned by effective assessment.
  • Work closely with families, promoting positive relationships and supporting children’s well-being.

Curriculum & Pedagogy

  • Lead the design, monitoring, and evaluation of the curriculum across the school.
  • Ensure the curriculum reflects the needs, interests, and development of all children.
  • Embed purposeful play, high-quality interactions, and strong pedagogy across the setting.
  • Keep up to date with research, national developments, and best practice in early years education.

We Offer:

  • A welcoming, nurturing school community with a strong team ethos.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.
  • A well-resourced, engaging learning environment.
  • Supportive leadership and governing body committed to staff well-being.

We warmly encourage visits to the school - please contact Sally / Becky on 020 7527 4844 or email [email protected] to arrange an appointment.
