About The Role

We are looking for motivated, customer-focused team players with a genuine interest in housing, to help us deliver excellent housing services and take forward our exciting and challenging improvement plan.

We have vacancies for Full Time roles and 1 Part-Time Job Share (17.5 hours per week, Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Wednesdays). 

You will be responsible for providing an effective customer focused service with an emphasis on income maximisation and tenancy sustainment. You will utilise your excellent problem-solving skills with our partners and other external agencies in order to assist our tenants to meet their obligation in relation to their rent and maintaining their tenancy, while meeting Islington Council’s expected performance outcomes. 

You will be required to manage telephone calls and queries, complete targeted campaigns, collect Income payments, conduct home visits, issue court proceedings, manage evictions as well as provide benefit advice and support in relation to administration of rent and  arrears.
  • You will have:
    • Experience of income recovery/debt collection an advantage.
    • Experience of delivering services within a multi-cultural community.
    • Knowledge of welfare benefits sufficient to provide general advice to service users.
    • An understanding of Public Sector housing. 
  • You will be working in an Income Team within a department of Officers playing their part in working together for a fairer borough and to always be collaborative, be ambitious, be resourceful, and be empowering.
